The collector of the district M. D. Singh had been invited as the chief guest. The programme started sharp at 9.00 a.m. The chief guest lighted the lamp and inaugurated the function. He was given a floral welcome by our principal. The Principal read the annual report of the college and made the audience aware of the college’s achievements in academics and co-curricular arenas, like spots, culture and social service.

The chief guest gave away prizes to winners in different fields and then made an impressive speech. He praised the efforts of our college management, principal and teachers for uplifting name of the college. He also praised our college students for helping the poor and serving senior citizens. Then, the cultural programme started, the students presented mesmerizing cultural events such as dances, plays, magic show and group dances. The dances on patriotism won admiration of all. At the end Mr. Mohan Patil, the vice- principal thanked the chief-guest, dignitaries, and parents for having spared their valuable time to attend the function; he also thanked students, teachers, and the Principal for organizing the function successfully. Everyone enjoyed the annual day celebration of our college.

Ans: Republic Day celebration in JD College.

26th of January is a gala day for every Indian. On 26th Jan. 1950, the Constitution of India came into force and our country, India became the Republic. We celebrate this day as a festival every year. This year it was celebrated in Jawaharlal Darda Junior College with joy, glory and enthusiasm in the presence of the chief guest, teachers, students and parents.

All the students assembled on the college ground at 7:30 am. After some time the Principal and other distinguished persons arrived with the chief guest. Mr Ganpatrao Patil a freedom fighter, a senior citizen of the city was invited as our chief guest. The Principal, of our college Mr. Bharti sir hoisted the Indian National tri-colour which was followed by our National Anthem ‘Jan Gan Man’ sung by a team of students. After the national anthem guard of honour was given. We all saluted the flag. Then the chief guest felicitated the national players of our college. In his inspiring speech he told some incidents during the Indian freedom struggle. Mr. Patil appealed the students to maintain the unity and peace and to work hard for the development of the nation. He also appealed not to give in our life the room to caste and religion. After The Principal’s address to the gathering, the cultural programs were held. Ans: The Prize Distribution of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jr. College.

Last Sunday on 2nd of March, Annual Prize Distribution Function was organized in our Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jr. College. The function started at 10:00 am sharp in the assembly hall which was decorated with the flowerslike a bride. Many beautiful and colorful rangolies were also drawn by girls at the entrance of the hall. A famous social worker Dr. Anil Patel was the chief guest of the function. In order to make this event successful, a lot of preparations were made by students and teachers. The guest was impressed by seeing such nice arrangements.

At first, our Principal welcomed the chief guest with bouquet and a book on Indian democracy. Then, the ceremony started with the Jijau Vandana. After that the chief guest lit the lampThe principal read out the annual report of our college. The achievements in various fields and future plans of the college were presented by him. The People enjoyed the Cultural Programme a lot with a loud clapping, presented by the students.  Immediately after all the successful students in various fields such as Sports, Education, and Cultural Programs were honored with the mementoes, certificates, cash prizes, books including the State, national and international players . Rajan, students of 12th also was felicitated for saving the life of a kid from drowning in the river, last month. At last the chief guest in his motivational speech congratulated all winners and merit holders and to inspire other students by narrating incidents of his life and announced  1 lac donation for opening a new Computer lab in the school. All the winner were very happy. In the end, the general secretary of the College presented vote of thanks. The function ended with National Anthem.

On 5th June, our ------college celebrated 'Environment day' with great zeal. A lot of preparations were made by students and teachers. Our principal and the chief guest Dr. Mankar, inaugurated the function by planting a sapling near the stage. The welcome speech was given by the president of our college's nature club. Addressing to the gathering on the occasion, the chief guest appealed the students and the teachers to adopt green ways of life.  He also appealed us to protect of our environment.

Many events such as poster-making, debate, slogan writing, essay writing, quiz, etc. were held on the theme of ‘Save Earth’ and ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’ A mime was presented depicting the plight of environment caused by pollution, which was highly appreciated by Principal Sir and our chief guest. Ans: Science Exhibition in JD College.

The two days Vidharbha Level Science Exhibition with the theme "Science & Technology for Challenges in Life" was hosted by J.D. College on 16-17th August. The young enthusiastic participants from different parts of Vidharbha participated with 72 innovative projects.

The chief guest, the guardian Minister of Yavatmal, Mr. Sanjay Rathod cut the red ribbon and inaugurated exhibition.  He was very impressed by the presentations and congratulated the participants.

The exhibits by the different colleges were indeed eye openers on various topics related to Green Energy, Innovation in Transport, Communication, Agriculture, Technology, Bio- diversity, Community Health, Environment & Mathematical Modeling. It was a very nice endeavor (प्रयासप्रयत्न) to promote(प्रोत्साहित करना) scientific attitude among young students.

In order to make this event successful, a lot of preparations were made bythe host team of J.D. College. The Valedictory Function organized on 17th August, the eminent judges comprising of Dr. Shital Watile (Jagdambha College, Yavatmal), Dr. V. Kumar (PKV, Akola), Prof. Naveen Patel (AMV, Yavatmal) and Dr. R. A Kadam (VMV, Amravati) gave their perfect judgment after inspecting each project. The best 15 colleges were selected and now they will compete at the State Level. All the participants were presented with certificates and momentos. The students of the host college also presented Nukkad Natak on water conservation (जतनसंरक्षण) for the audience. The Principal, of our College, thanked all the participating teams for making this event successful and appreciated their novel projects. Students from many schools and colleges of Amravati, Akola, Wardha and Yavatmal had come to view the projects.

Ans: Cleanliness Drive in Anglo Hindi College College.

Anglo Hindi College organized Cleanliness Drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 2 October. The main purpose of this drive was to create awareness among the students regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. In this drive, all the students participated including the principal, all teachers and non-teaching staff .

       Our Principal started the drive by cleaning the playground. Then the teachers and others followed him. Some of us picked brooms and started our job dusting of the rooms. As a part of this Cleanliness Drive, we cleaned government hospital also. After doing this job for two to three hours, we all assembled in the college hall. There we were given refreshment in the form of bananas and apples.

Thereafter our Principal delivered the speech telling us the importance of sanitation (स्वच्छता). He also honored the sweepers (सफाई करने वाला) of the college for their noble job. In the end we all took oath of keeping our home, locality and city clean. It was a unique experience for all of us. We were curious to be the part of this great drive that could have changed the face of our country forever.

On July 26, xxxxxxx College celebrated 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' to remember India's war victory and to pay tribute (आदरांजली) to Kargil Martyrs (शहीद) who are the symbol of courage and sacrifice for safeguarding (संरक्षण) the borders of the Country. Our class conducted morning assembly in a very well-coordinated manner. Col. Sivaji Sawant was the chief guest. He cut the red ribbon and inaugurated exhibition of the posters on Kargil war. Students sang patriotic songs and filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism. A model representing the Kargil Mountains conquered by Indian Army was displayed in the assembly; it was beautifully made by the teachers depicting the Kargil war scene.


    The chief guest explained the importance of Kargil Vijay Diwas to the students. He said that the patriotism has a great social value; the feeling of patriotism inculcate (मस्तिष्क में बैठा देना
) at college level will make the student the responsible citizen of our Nation. After that the entire staff along with the students paid homage (श्रद्धांजलि) to the soldiers of Kargil by lighting the candles and keeping 2 minutes silence. The lighted candles illuminated (रोशन करना) the hall and made it peaceful.


          The power point presentation on the Kargil war by the chief guest made the event informative and enlightening. It explained the students about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the sacrifices of Kargil heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional videos of the war. Students were literally in tears, after watching the heart touching videos. Finally thevice- principal of the College presented vote of thanks. The function ended with National Anthem.
